Can anyone help me out. I did an upgrade to the latest edition today and it has brought my software to its knees. Its taken me 3 hours to create 5 items. Whenever you go into the edit description mode it just about stand still. Take 15 seconds per back space and heaven forbid you try to highlight something. Its been slow the last month but Ive fought through it . DOes anyone know how to load a previous version and not kill what Ive done. Ive got about 50 more listings Im supposed to have done tonight, I do about 100-150 a week. Anyone having the same problems? Im on a surfacebook with 8gb of ram and 500GB hd so its not my computer, everything else runs fine but this.....Thanks in advance Matt

Hi Matt,

Open a ticket with support and they'll take a look for you. There shouldn't be any changes in the new versions to cause that kind of slowness, but they should be able to track down the cause for you.

We are right there with you. I will be opening a ticket up once again for another issue with another update. This has brought our 20k+ listings to their knees without being able to access them for the current eBay requirements. This is getting ridiculous as it has been a week with problems already.

HI John, I did send an email, I didnt get a reply. It seems to happen sometimes after 50 auction creations, but It just comes to a screeching hault, and will just sit and youll see your mouse pointer cycle or spin in a circle and you cant click anything and have to terminate it. But its always in the HTML editor screen, the other screens sail right through, but the HTML editor just bogs right down. Ive even tried loading them in batches before I get to fifty and theres no rhyme or reason for it. Is there a tool to clean up the DB somewhere in here or something I can do on my end. But theres not any common theme, other than it seems to happen around 50 auctions or an update, and some times for no reason at all. I dont like to complain but Ive got things I need to be doing instead of it taking 10-15 mins to create what normally is a 1 min or 2. Or re-booting 6 times in a row thinking I need to clear out my cache or something. created 50 auction in an hour and change but the last 15 have taken me over an hour and Im just cutting and pasting Matt

Hi Matt,

I didn't see an email in the queue from you. Did you open it from the program support tab, website or send a direct email?
Try the support@sixbitsoftware.com email address, that should always work.

If you're having issues with the HTML option, try using one of the other options and let me know if you have any issues with those too.

Joseph,
Are you running the current full version, 3.00.244?

Hi John, Yes Im running the newest edition. Ticket Number is #799056 - HTML Editor Its been taking 3 minutes from the time you click the edit html button for the window to open up. The delay is nowhere else but the HTML editor. It took 6 minutes to replace one word in the item description in the html editor even after a fresh reboot. Ive been emailing back and forth with one of your engineers and his answer is "We cant recreate this issue" , I know you cant or everyone would be as frustrated as me. When I asked if he could log into my DB or help his answer was "All I could do is tell you its slow as well" is not a very "Supportive" answer.....Im looking for some support, not a o well its your issue. I know its my issue, or "system specific problem" as hes calling it or you guys would have an update patch. I want to figure out a solution maybe a clean install and import the old DB into a fresh install. So far in 5 replies and response with him all Ive gotten was O well looks like its on your end, I know its on my end, help me work a solution to figure it out. His answer is like telling a car dealer your having a problem with your car and him saying back to you "well we cant make it happen with a new one or old one on the lot. Of course you cant, its a problem with mine. Matt Lollman 580-222-5375

Matt,

I've taken a look at your ticket. It looks like the last suggestion was an uninstall and reinstall. If it still occurs after that, then we'll set up a remote session. Also, in the meantime, if you need to make description changes quickly, you can go to Options|Creating Items and choose a different editor. You can use Notepad or any other editor that you have installed. Kompozer is a good free editor. I would be interested to know if you get the same issue with other editors.

Hi Matt,

Were you able to uninstall/reinstall Sixbit to see if the issue is resolved? That database should stay attached, but make sure you have a backup available.

Other things to check is for available disk space and if your system is up to date on Windows updates. Some of the Windows updates may not have been completed and are affecting your system performance with our program.

Another thing to test is to switch the HTML editor. If one of those fixes the issue, it could help us determine what is causing the others to fail.

Let us know the results in the ticket and we should be able to assist further. It may come down to requiring a System Restore of Windows or complete reinstall of Windows which is something we're not able to do remotely.

Thanks,
John

John,

We are having performance issues as well and you mentioned Windows updates. there have been a lot of bad Windows updates lately that have broken applications, caused performance issues, etc, so we've been limiting updates to pretty much pre-validated critical security updates only (we use WSUS). Are there any specific updates we should apply to help with the performance issues?
