I have been running SQL Server 2014 on two systems for a couple of years without difficulty. The SixBit database remains at compatibility level 100 (SQL Server 2008). Restoring the SixBit database from a backup should retain the compatibility level. A newly created database will be at compatibility level 120 (SQL Server 2014).

    See

    John,

The Stock Total column ended up located somewhere else in the (custom) grid. If it had not moved, the previous post would have been unnecessary. Besides migrating a few columns to the right, it was displayed as Stoc…. Hovering the mouse over the column did not expose the complete column name. It would be helpful not to add new columns to custom grids and keep renamed columns in the same location.

It is also difficult to edit the grid. It is difficult to figure out where to place a right mouse click will open the included/excluded column list. Worse, excluding a column from the list closes the list. It should stay open until all of the changes are made. It would help if the Manage Grid Layouts window included an edit button. The editor should also allow moving columns to the left or right (up or down in the list) making it possible to reposition columns without having to scroll right or left.

Currently, grids are all but unmanageable.

On Hand seems to have gone missing from the grid in 3.00.147

It is annoying, but having some item selected is worse, and that happens also. After moving a group of items from one folder to another, the first item in the folder becomes highlighted as if selected. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn’t. Another problem in the orders grid is that after some operation like printing carrier labels, a newly paid order will insert itself into the list displacing one of the selected orders out of the list. Never click on Mark as Shipped without checking the select list to make sure it is still the same.

Even more troubling is that Item Specifics and categories may unexpectedly be overwritten from another item if an Items edit window is open when switching between Items views. Specifically. Assume the third item in the grid is selected and has an open edit window when switching to a different Items view. Upon returning to the original view, the first item may appear to be selected instead of the third item. However, the edit window remains with the third item, but when it is closed, some information from the first item overwrites the third item.

Yes, the grid selection logic needs to be cleaned up as much as possible given that Windows often requires one mouse click too many to return to a previous context.
