went to the old SixBit board, but see it is now gone, not available?
Is there a problem with leaving it up?

What's the sense in having 2 boards up and running?

We had that on a paid hosting service and retired it in favor of this board.

Thanks John, I understand the added cost, but I just hate to see all the good info that was still on the old board.

Quite frankly, this forum is horrible... It is tough to navigate and search for things. I don't think it is just getting used to it.... it is not that great.

Fully agree, Robert....it's not about getting used to it.
It really does suck, and I've been using it since it started.

Just for starters: Have you ever seen so much wasted white space in a forum?
I guess you get what you pay for. This forum software must be free.

I was one of the most active members on the old forum, but almost never come here because it sucks so bad. My annoyance at this software has overcome my desire to help fellow members. It's a shame because the old forum was a great resource.

Sixbit sees very little value in these forums, thus they virtually ignore it.
Name one other successful software platform, that ignores their forums.
I argue that a vibrant forum is imperative to software's success.

The fact that there's such a small forum community, and that I had to open 3 to 5 tickets every day, was the primary reason I left the platform.
Support should realize that users can help other users find work arounds, and "tricks" for getting things to work. The SB technical team, only looks for solutions....which takes time.
With poor forum software, and lack of management participation, SB looks "rinky-dink", and unprofessional to those shopping for an ecommerce solution.
But, that's only my opinion....clearly not Sixbit's.

I searched for information on that old board - used it recently to look up something. Wish they would bring it back.

I know the feeling....with forums... I assume it's because what we old timers knew as a BBS style forum is gone with the advent of mobile...

And with that said, Facebook has taken over the world. I noticed that just about everything is shifting towards facebook, even forums. A small group of us got together and built a Facebook group. It's unsupported by staff and the Ticket system is the best and most sure way to get a problem solved. I don't think I'm allowed to link to it here, but we can be found on Facebook. It's just a little group of friendly folks who are fans of SB trying to help each other out and make the most use of SB.

With all that said, I'm a big fan of Sixbit! It is worth every penny I pay for it and I don't even use all of it.

Of course you can provide a link to the FB group. Afterall, that only embellishes SB, and this is a user-user forum here, so post away....
