Entering Seller Account Information

For each eCommerce(Electronic Commerce) - the buying and selling of products or services over electronic systems such as the Internet. site that you list on, a selling account id will need to be entered for the site.  Some sites will also require the user to authorize SixBit to act on their behalf.  

 

To enter  selling account information:

  1. Open the user Profile. How?How?From the Quick Access Toolbar, in the upper left, choose the Profile icon.

  2. The Selling Accounts section contains a tab for each supported site.  Follow the instructions outlined for each site.

 

Not all versions of SixBit support multiple sites.

 

Site Details
eBay eBay requires the user to authorize SixBit to act on their behalf.

To authorize SixBit for eBay:

  1. Ensure that the eBay tab is selected.
  2. Enter the eBay userid on the eBay tab, and click the Authorize button.  Note: do not use the email address associated with the account, as this will cause the authorization process to fail.
  3. Follow the instructions on the ensuing pages to complete the authorization.
Amazon

NOTE: Due to a change with the Amazon authorization process, new users who would want to link SixBit to their Amazon seller account will not be able to do so.  SixBit does support Amazon for users who were able to get SixBit linked to Amazon before the registration change until Amazon revokes access for the existing MWS key users.  SixBit will not be compatible with Amazon in any regard after Amazon fully revokes MWS access.

 

Amazon requires the user to authorize SixBit to act on their behalf.  

To authorize SixBit for Amazon:

  1. Go to the Amazon Marketplace Web service page

    1.  For UK: http://developer.amazonservices.co.uk

    2.  For US: http://developer.amazonservices.com

  2. Click the Sign up for MWS button

  3. Log into your Amazon Seller account

  1. Click Register as a Developer
  2. Fill in the required business information.  Your request may take up to 30 days for review.
  3. Copy your account identifiers (Seller ID, Marketplace ID, Developer Account Identifier, AWS Access Key ID, and Secret Key). It is also a good practice to print this page and save it in a safe place.
  4. To get the Seller/Merchant ID you may have to go to Settings (top-right of UK Seller Central), Account Settings, locate the Merchant ID link on the Account Settings page.

  1. Ensure that the Amazon tab is selected on the Selling Accounts group in the SixBit Profile.
  2. Enter the Amazon Seller ID and the AWS Access Key, and the Secret Key and click the Verify button to ensure the values are accepted at Amazon.

 

 

Etsy Etsy requires the user to authorize SixBit to act on their behalf.

To authorize SixBit for Etsy:

  1. Ensure that the Etsy tab is selected.
  2. Click the Authorize button.
  3. A browser window will open asking you to sign in to Etsy.  Enter your username and password to sign in.  SixBit is not storing this information.  You are actually signing into Etsy.  A window will appear telling you an application would like to connect.  Click Allow Access.
  4. A verification code will be returned.  Copy and paste the code into the window that appeared in SixBit and click OK.  A token and a Secret Key will appear in SixBit.
Shopify

NOTE: Users are not able to authorize SixBit for Shopify due to a change in Shopify's app store policies.  Even if a Shopify store has been open and active for any amount of time, new authorization attempts will fail.  

 

Shopify requires the user to authorize SixBit to act on their behalf.

To authorize SixBit for Shopify:

  1. In SixBit, click File | Options | Sites and enable Shopify.  Click OK and the Profile window will open.

  2. Select the Shopify tab and click Authorize.

  3. In the Authorize Shopify window, enter your Shopify Store Name and click OK.

  4. Enter your Shopify Email and Password and click Log In.

  5. SixBit will automatically retrieve the access token from Shopify.

Hip Hip requires users to email support@hipecommerce.com to request an API key (you will need to provide your Hip username and email address when requesting the key).  You will need to request an API key for each individual Hip platform (stamps, comics, and postcards).  Once Hip emails back with the API key(s), in SixBit click File > Options > Sites, then enable Hip eCommerce along with the appropriate platform, and click OK.  SixBit will ask if you want to attribute the Hip eCommerce seller account to an existing profile, or create a new one.
