Adding to a Listings Description
Under certain conditions, some sites will allow you to add information to running listings.
On eBay, information can be added to the description except if:
- an auction has a bid AND ends within 12 hours
- a Best Offer listing has pending offers
To add to the description of selected running listings:
- Open the Check Listings mode. How?How?
- From the grid, select one or more running listings for which the descriptions will be updated.
- From the ribbon bar, click the Add
to Description button. The HTML Editor will appear
in Add to Description mode.
Enter any text that will be added to the description. Notice that all the functionality of the HTML Editor will be available when adding, text including the ability to use Field Variables and Snippets.
Click Add . It will take a few moments, but the text will be added to the running descriptions for all listings that allow description updates.

By selecting many listings at once, many listings can be updated in a very short period of time. This is useful if something interrupts your business and you need to get the word out to all prospective buyers. For example, you may be called out of town unexpectedly, the area may lose electricity for several days, your computer may crash, or you are headed to the Super Bowl because your team made it in! In all those cases, you may want to add information to the listing to let users know the reason that responses may be delayed. |
