Revising a Listing

While a listing is running, there may be a need to update some information in the listing or the quantity available.  What can be modified in the listing will depend upon the rules of the eCommerce site which may restrict changes based on the amount of time left on the listing or other factors.

Revising listings can be performed either a listing at a time or in batches.  To revise a single listing, a listing record will be opened allowing for the requested changes to be made.  To revise a batch of listings at once, change actions can be specified and then applied to all selected listings at once.  By saving a batch change definition, similar batch changes can be made more quickly in the future.

To revise a single listing:

  1. Open the Check Listings mode.     How?How? From the Mode selector in the lower left, choose Check Listings.
  2. From the grid, select the listing that will be revised.
  3. From the Modify tab on the ribbon bar, click the Revise button.

Errors are reported when an listing fails to revise.  Warnings are reported when the site provides information about the submission that does not prevent it from listing.  Warnings can be suppressed from Options|General|Error/Warning Handling.

  1. A listing record is a copy of the original item record that was created at the time it was listed.  Any modifications that are made to the listing during a revision will not necessarily change the original item record.  To change the original item record at the same time the listing is being revised, check the Apply changes to item so it applies to all future listings box.
  2. SixBit cannot tell if pictures have changed. If modifications have been made to pictures or they must be uploaded again, for any reason, check the Resend pictures with revision box.
  3. Click OK to send the revision.  Depending on how the site handles revision requests, the revision will either be made immediately or the request will be submitted and the listing will be placed into the Submission Pending status until the site acknowledges the revision is complete.  See Interaction_with_the_Site for more information on how sites handle revision calls.
