Marking an Order as Shipped

When an order has been shipped, there are several tasks that need to occur.  Rather than requiring the seller to manually perform these tasks, they have all been rolled up into one simple button labelled Mark as Shipped.

When an order has been shipped, click the Mark as Shipped button.  Clicking the Mark as Shipped button will perform the following tasks:

  • The site that generated the order will be updated with the shipping information including the tracking number
  • The date shipped will be set to the current time
  • The shipment will be flagged as having been shipped
  • If automatic shipping notifications have been turned on, the shipment will be added to the list of shipping notifications to be sent.
  • If all shipments in the order are marked as shipped, then the order will be moved to the "Fulfilled" status.

Although these steps may be performed individually, it is strongly recommended that the Mark as Shipped button is used after the items have been shipped and the tracking number has been recorded.

If SixBit is used to print postage,  the items may be automatically marked as shipped by printing the postage or packing lists.   Refer to Setting Postage and Packing List Options for more information.
