Sending Shipping Notifications

Ship notifications are sent to buyers once an order is shipped.  Ship notifications include information such as what was shipped, when it was shipped and what shipping method was used.  In addition, the ship notification also includes applicable tracking numbers.   If the eCommerce site sends out ship notifications for you, this functionality may not be needed and the Ship Notification button can be hidden from the interface by following the instructions in Customizing Shipping Notifications.

 

The text of a ship notification may be customized to make them more personal.  Refer to Customizing Shipping Notifications which also explains how to edit the Ship Notification Email Template.

 

Ship notifications may be sent manually or automatically.   Automatic shipping notifications can be sent out whenever a shipment is shipped.  Refer to Customizing Shipping Notifications for more information on setting up automatic ship notifications.

 

 

To manually send ship notifications:

  1. Open the Ship Orders mode.       How?How? From the Mode selector in the lower left, choose Ship Orders.
  2. From the grid, select the orders with the In Process status, for which an email ship notification will be sent.   
  3. In the Email group on the ribbon bar, click the Ship Notification button to open the Email Preview window.  An email for each shipment will be generated and displayed.   The email template can be edited to create a personalized email.
  4. Click Send or Send All to send the email(s).
