Consignments

In addition to selling their own items, many sellers on eCommerce sites also make extra money by selling things for other people.  This is known as selling on consignment.  The person who lists and sells the item is the consigneea person who sells items owned by someone else for a fee. and the person who they are selling the item for is the consignora person who gives up an item to someone else to sell for them..  The consignee usually charges either a flat fee, a percentage of the sale, or a share in the profits for their services.

The Consignment Module in SixBit can help consignees manage the items they have on consignment.  The Consignment Module is included in the SixBit Enterprise Max Edition and as an addon to the SixBit Small Business Edition or SixBit Enterprise Editions.  The add-on can be ordered by logging into the Client Area and choosing Services|My Services from the top menu.  Then click the your Active subscription in the table, followed by selecting Upgrade/Downgrade Options in the sidebar on the left. Check the desired module to enable it.

Selling on Consignment

The Consignment Module will help to enter info about your Consignors into SixBit as well as define your different fee structures in Consignment Plans.   You will then be able to assign a consignment plan to a consigned item. When a consigned item sells, SixBit will perform the fee calculation based on the assigned consignment plan and let you know how much to send to your consignor.   You can also send an automatic email to your consignors once an item sells to give them the specifics of the sale.  In addition, at any point you can choose to print a Consignor Payout Report which will collect all of the sales for the consignors over a given period and provide the details and totals that need to be paid out to the consignors.
